The University of Texas at Arlington is Hiring a Supply Chain Manager Near Arlington, TX

Job SummaryFoster connectivity and efficiency within Texas’ manufacturing ecosystem by collaborating with trade associations, industry groups, and manufacturers to cultivate strategic partnerships and propel economic growth. Manage the Supply Chain Optimization Intelligence Network initiative, overseeing supplier scouting, developing mapping systems for emerging technologies, OEM engagements, and conducting supply chain risk assessments. Interface with business development, operations, and technical services to drive innovation and foster sustainable growth.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or related STEM field with six (6) years of related industry experience, and at least one of the following certifications in Supply Chain:
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional ( CSCP )
    • Certified in Production and Inventory Management ( CPIM )
    • Certified Logistics and Supply Chain Professional ( CLP )
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management ( CPSM )
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master degree in engineering or related STEM field with four (4) years of related industry experience, and at least one of the following certifications in Supply Chain:
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional ( CSCP )
    • Certified in Production and Inventory Management ( CPIM )
    • Certified Logistics and Supply Chain Professional ( CLP )
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management ( CPSM )
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity of the Texas Manufacturing Network database, driving continuous development efforts to meet customers’ dynamic needs and enhancing platform utilization. Responsible for facilitating seamless connectivity among Texas manufacturers spanning both statewide and nationally.
  • Monitor developmental changes to ensure their thoroughness and effectiveness.
  • Monitor statewide and national exchange centers, ensuring timely responses and maintaining comprehensive data coverage.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security protocols to safeguard sensitive data against cyber threats.
  • Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive project schedules in collaboration with the center’s leadership team, operational staff, and external partners to ensure the timely achievement of milestones and deliverables.
  • This includes overseeing projects stemming from the supply chain initiative and economic development endeavors.
  • Liaise with leadership teams to address any project-related challenges and secure necessary resources for successful project execution.
  • Develop precise work instructions to optimize operational efficiency across the manufacturing portal, industry mapping system, and deliverable projects.
  • Collaborate with state and federal partners to identify and implement initiatives aimed at reshoring/near-shoring initiatives.
  • Implement robust tracking systems to monitor the impact of B2B connections and supply chain projects.
  • Partner with operations and marketing teams to enhance end-user engagement and promote supply chain visibility.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and promotional concepts to highlight the benefits of NIST / MEP supplier scouting.
  • Organize webinars and training sessions to educate manufacturers on the platform functionalities and emerging supply chain programs.
  • Represent the organization at relevant events and conferences to further its mission and objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set goals and identify areas for growth and skill enhancement.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices, actively seeking opportunities to enhance expertise and contribute to organizational success.
  • Standardize supply chain initiatives and delivery across the state with TMAC regional offices.
  • Document processes and procedures to ensure adherence to internal standards and facilitate auditing processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Management of third-party contractor activities.
Budgetary Responsibilities:
  • Management of project specific budgets.
