The University of Vermont Health Network is Hiring a Patient Access Manager Near Berlin, VT

POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Access Manager reports directly to the Director of Patient Access. Oversees all daily functions and activities of the inpatient and outpatient registration, MGP Pre-Registration, switchboard staff, and Financial Counseling. Provides for the selection, training, assignment, scheduling and direction of departmental personnel in registration, switchboard, MGP pre-registration, hospital scheduling and charge entry, and Financial Counseling. Provides training, education and support to staff. Responsible for identifying/implementing process improvement opportunities. Acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, practice and hospital departments to insure quality service and accurate data. Insures compliance to departmental policies and procedures, hospital and practice policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations. The Patient Access Manager is a contact person during hospital clinical care audits, and during the JACHO certification process.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE
Associate degree preferred. Ability to operate general office equipment. Proficiency in Meditech/eCW preferred. Good research, analytical, people, and problem solving skills. Extensive knowledge of lab, clinical and medical terminology. Customer service and public relation skills essential. Registration certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE
One to two years in office procedures, eighteen to twenty four months prior medical experience, either as a medical receptionist or related medical field; computer knowledge.
