Position Overview:The Talent Management and Internal Mobility team, part of the Learning and Talent
Solutions Center of Excellence is responsible for the development of Talent Management philosophies, processes and tools and manages the work from concept stage through implementation and measurement.
The Senior Manager, Talent Planning will play a meaningful role in the ongoing transformation of talent management and planning at The Walt Disney Company. This role will focus on the collection and analysis of talent information, including potential, development actions, and creating visibility of talent across the enterprise. This role will report to the Director, Talent Planning & Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:Global Talent Planning Transformation:
  • Lead the global transformation of talent planning processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and strategic goals, with a focus on deeply knowing our internal talent.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent planning strategy that includes the identification and support of high-potential employees through scalable and practical solutions.
  • Play a critical role in assessment and implementation for technology, tools and systems to ensure scalable and efficient approach to talent planning and visibility.
Talent Information Collection and Analysis:
  • Lead all aspects of the collection, analysis, and reporting of talent information, including employee potential, development actions, and career aspirations.
  • In partnership with people insights and talent intelligence, generate and leverage insights and recommendations for talent management and development.
Visibility and Communication:
  • In partnership with various HR partners, build a strategy towards more centralized talent visibility across the enterprise.
  • Create and implement communication strategies to ensure that talent information is accessible and actionable for key partners, including senior leadership, HR business partners, internal mobility, and segment talent management.
Development Actions Oversight:
  • Collaborate with L&D teams to align development actions with organizational needs by continually tracking themes across development areas and skill gaps.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with HRBP, segment LTS partners, and senior leadership to understand talent needs and provide strategic guidance on talent planning and development.
  • In partnership with segment LTS teams and HR Business Partners, support the facilitation of cross-segment talent review sessions and succession planning discussions to ensure alignment and accountability.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of talent planning processes and initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management and workforce planning.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in talent management
  • Proven experience with talent and succession planning, including talent review conversation facilitation
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional projects from idea to implementation, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
The hiring range for this position in California is $163,200.00 - $199,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
