Purpose of Role: The Machinist is responsible to perform duties required to set up and adjust a variety of machines such as drill press, engine lathe, turret lathe, NC lathe, and machining centre to perform established and standard machining operations to produce parts such as volutes, butterfly valve bodies and disks, impellers, etc., utilizing brass, Lewmet, cast iron, or stainless steel. Also, must deburr parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Proficiency : Operate machine to prove-out setup and produce pilot work piece for inspection
• Technical Understanding : Work from complex blueprints, part drawings, specifications, setup instructions, etc.
• Precision Handling : Work on multi-tooled arrangements that have several operations where very close dimensional relations are important
• Problem-Solving Skills : Diagnose machine or tooling malfunction and make the proper and corrective adjustments
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
• GED or High School Diploma required
• 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist preferred (set up/operator)
• Experience working with Fanuc controls
