LIFE LINES PROGRAM
Job Title: Custodian
Program: Life Lines
Reports to: Home Base Manager
Hours of Operation: Tuesday-Friday;Sundays are flexible, 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Shift(s) determined by need
Ability to be flexible is required to support the efforts of the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Manage the day-to-day custodial services of Home Base: Drop in Center
● Maintain the building(s) and grounds of the Life Lines property o Services include but are not limited to
▪ Ensuring all surfaces are clean and prepared accordingly
▪ Trash removal from office and congregate spaces
▪ Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of surfaces
▪ Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks and showers and restocking of disposables
● Wipe down mirrors and windows
● Maintain outer premises by watering plants, ensuring no trash piles up, cleaning entry ways
● Report major damages and oversee repairs
● Track and maintain inventory for supply needs
● Open and/or Secure facilities before/after operating hours by un/locking doors, closing windows and dis/arming the alarm
● Undertake custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
● Service properties in the immediate surrounding area when needed o Services include but are not limited to
▪ Ensuring all surfaces are clean and prepared accordingly
▪ Trash removal from bedroom and congregate spaces
▪ Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of surfaces
▪ Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks and showers
● Other duties as assigned

1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities a. Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, b. Ability to maintain client confidentiality, c. Ability to maintain composure under high pressure and/or intense situations, d. Willingness to work flexible hours, e. Organizational skills, and f. Written and oral communication skills.
2. Must not have a criminal background which would cause questions of ability to give constructive guidance to young adults.
3. Must possess a current Delaware driver’s license and reliable transportation.
4. Understands the position may require some physical abilities. a. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. b. Cleaning, moving, and or other duties may be necessary to support the youth through transition.
