Under the supervision of the Director of Hospice, the Delivery Technician is responsible for the safe delivery and set up of durable medical equipment for patients at specific locations.

Additional duties include:

• Schedules time to meet with patient and family/caregiver to deliver equipment.
• Educates caregiver to ensure proper and safe use of equipment for standard use and transportation.
• Receives, assembles, diagnoses, repairs, and delivers equipment.
• Removes and appropriately tags malfunctioning equipment from service.
• Properly documents equipment changes, routine maintenance, and monthly service checks to maintain accurate patient charts and inventory.
• Completes all equipment checks at the office or patient’s location according to WTRC and Hospice policy and procedures as well as manufacturer’s specifications.
• Presents knowledge and understanding of agency policies, procedures, and philosophies.
• Maintain the patient’s and family’s right to privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Works non-judgmentally with patients and families of various cultures, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds and lifestyles.
