The Woodlands Township is Hiring a Customer Service Representative, full-time Near The Woodlands, TX

Full-time position
Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.Summary of Duties: Assist external customers (e.g. residents, patrons, registrants) and internal customers (e.g. employees) with requests for service either by phone, computer or in-person. Assist with administrative duties for either the Parks, Recreation or Environmental Services Department management team.
General DutiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist external and internal customers with requests for service by either phone, computer, or in-person.
  • Respond to routine inquires, answer incoming telephone calls, determine purpose of callers, and forward calls to appropriate personnel, department, or agency.
  • Greet and assist visitors and/or direct to appropriate area or person.
  • Handle caller requests for service/resolve issue - related to Solid Waste/Recycling.
  • Provide departmental information via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Schedule and coordinate calendar for activities. Notify patrons of activity schedules, cancellations and registration requirements.
  • Computer and organizational skills to assist with maintaining service request and work orders utilizing the company’s software -Tyler Technologies (database program).
  • Distribute facility reservation and station activity reports to staff as needed.
  • Prepare cash receipts and deposits.
  • Conduct research, compile, and type statistical reports.
  • Type routine correspondence
  • File correspondence and other records.
  • Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and correspondence, including mail and faxes.
  • Order and maintain supplies.
  • May be required to work special events on nights, weekends or holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities For Customer Engagement
  • Process 311 request or phone calls for Solid Waste/Recycling to Solid Waste provider (Waste Management).
  • Recommend and process facility reservations (pavilions, pools, daycare/group visitation), for residents, vendors, employees, and outside agencies/organizations (schools, churches, misc. associations, etc.) using the company’s ActiveNet registration/reservation software system.
  • Process payments and track, receive, and return deposits for facility reservations/community garden. Prepare cash receipts and deposits.
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Experience: One (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses And Certifications
  • Must possess or obtain within first ninety (90) days of employment a valid Texas driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
Computer Skills: Computer proficiency in MS Office required. Preferred but not required experience with ActiveNet and/or Tyler Technologies (database programs).
