Wurzak Hotel Group as part of the Dalmar & Element Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale is looking for an energetic and professional PBX OPERATOR to join their vibrant Guest Services and Front Desk team. The candidate we seek will be responsible for supporting our guests by operating switchboards, connecting callers to the appropriate person, and answering guest questions or requests.
General Requirements

• Operates the PBX equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls, and paging guests to provide timely and efficient service.
• Contributes and maintains established information and communications sources such as department and front desk log books in order to enhance department communications and operations.
• Promptly responds to guest requests and escalates guest concerns or inquiries to the appropriate leader or department for quick resolutions.
• Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel.
• May control cash transactions at the front desk and maintains complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

Education & Experience

• Previous hotel PBX / Front Desk experience required.
• Excellent diplomacy and guest service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in the English language both verbal and written.
• Supervisory skills may include follow-through, problem solving, organization, training and communication.
• Marriott experience a plus!
• Must have high school graduate level mathematical aptitude; know standard cash handling procedures and knowledge of computerized cash register systems.
• Must have past experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills.
• Must have prior hospitality experience.
