Job Description
- Provides onsite coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing.
- preventative maintenance. Performs regular inspections.
- Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems and equipment (HVAC and Controls) are maintained and operated following the policies and procedures of the Wabash County YMCA.
- Ensures repair work and projects are completed promptly.
- Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
- Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
- Works as part of the Leadership Team to set goals, develop strategies, and innovate the work of the YMCA.
- Supervision of all housekeeping and custodial staff, and independent contractors, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
- Works with Department Directors and staff to provide preventive maintenance and upkeep of all equipment and swimming pools at the YMCA and equipment at the Field of Dreams, and oversees inspections and scheduling of preventive maintenance of YMCA vehicles.
- Maintain all building records including time sheets, inventory of supplies, service contracts, and maintenance/cleaning procedures.
- Develop budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitor expenditures against the budget.
- Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
- Assists with providing leadership to the Building & Grounds Committee of the Board.
- Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management or a related field is preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in facility management or a closely related field is required.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
- Skills in supervision, budget management, and project management.
- “POOL” operation certification is required within 120 days of employment.
- Ability and current license to drive with a record that meets YMCA standards.
- Familiarity with computers.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergencies.
- Preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Mechanical, HVAC, & Plumbing maintenance and repair.
- Vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Oversee Housekeeping Department.
- “POOL” operation certification is required within 120 days of employment.
