This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we open a new branch in beautiful Roanoke, VA!
Job DescriptionThis position requires strong leadership and organizational skills; an understanding of programs, services, and relationships needed to meet the needs of a new and growing YMCA branch. This position will direct our Wellness and Youth & Family Departments.
Qualifications
  • Two or more years of program management experience.
  • Two or more years of experience managing others.
  • Ability to direct department(s) operations through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of department(s) budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
Essential Functions
  • Manages and maintains a clean and welcoming environment in our Wellness and Youth and Family Departments.
  • Develops, implements, and manages high-quality programs for the Wellness Department including, but not limited to group-exercise both in-person and virtual, personal training, boot camps, etc.
  • Develops, implements, and manages high-quality programs for the Youth and Family Department including, but not limited to Stay & Play hours and activities, Kids Night Out, gymnastics, dance, etc.
  • Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.
  • Executes strategies to ensure that program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Manages the budgeting process for the departments so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensures operating budgets meet or exceed targets.
  • Builds relationships with members and guests.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
