The Area Sales Manager contributes to The Cloudveil's mission of providing lasting memories and transformational experiences for its guests. Whether they are attending a meeting or participating in a hotel activity on the rooftop terrace, the Area Sales Manager will ensure exceptional service and unique touches. The Area Sales Manager will also be responsible for all aspects of group sales at SpringHill Suites Jackson Hole. This candidate will possess the necessary experience to work closely with the properties' teams to continue to strengthen the brands, grow community awareness, execute the strategic plans and grow revenue. Essential Job Functions
Excellent knowledge of hotel facilities, guestrooms, and capacities and dimensions of meeting rooms for both properties
Develop relationships with meeting planners and community members to stay top of mind when planning meetings and events
Develop relationships with the Marriott Global Sales Team to communicate better throughout the negotiation process, to identify need dates, and to stay top of mind so as not to miss out on any potential opportunities
Attend and be a representative for both Hotels at various tradeshows with the Marriott Global Sales Team and the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce
Participate and create FAM opportunities and site visits that will benefit the Hotels
Review RFPs and use CI/TY and other revenue tools to evaluate the opportunity
Create proposals and contracts
Prepare for site visits by checking meeting rooms, arranging take-away gifts, inspecting guest rooms and sending site alerts to all departments
Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners and potential clients
Communicate clearly to the event management team during the turnover process, providing any special hotel arrangements including, meeting room set-ups, AV needs, special food and beverage, billing requirements and guest room accommodations per client's requests
Prospect from potential business for the hotel through various reports and meeting attendee lists
Assist with updating collateral, PowerPoint presentations and websites as needed
Work with the food and beverage/banquet teams to create personalized menus and events, focusing on achieving the client's goals, while at the same time achieving the revenue goals of the hotel
Collaborate with the Hotel teams as they curate events geared toward elevating the guest experience and the spirit of community and connection to Jackson
RequirementsESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
College degree or equivalent experience
3 years of experience in hotel sales, preferable at an upscale, full-service hotel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage time effectively, handling multiple projects at a time and meeting deadlines
Ability to effectively liaise between hotel and client, communicating clearly through banquet event orders and email
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent problem resolution skills
Sales aptitude, building relationships to assist with selling, upselling and re-booking the business
Mastery of Microsoft Office
