Thea is the upcoming Fort Greene project from Chef Tomer Blechman of Miss Ada, Nili and Theodora. Thea has a slated opening of August 2024. The bakery is a continuation of the work we are doing at Theodora, centered around warm hospitality, fresh baked bread and pastries, house-made provisions and a creative sandwich program. 

The right candidate for this role will have management experience in either a café or restaurant setting, some experience in coffee, and an interest in being part of a growing and evolving space. 

This role will be the leader of the front of house team, working closely with our Executive Pastry Chef and Savory Chef on a day to day level to ensure a warm and genuine guest experience. The candidate will be supported by the company’s Director of Operations, as well as the two owners, Tomer Blechman and Gerardo Estevez.

The role will be hands on, with the majority of time spent working behind the counter during hours of operation. The role will also include scheduling, inventory, ordering, as well as basic HR tasks (hiring, onboarding, employee training and discipline). Some management experience is required, but we are open to training a passionate hospitality professional looking for their next role.
Physical Requirements:

• Be able to stand for extended periods of time [over 7 hours]
• Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds steadily 
• Be comfortable bending, sitting, walking extended distances including up and down flights of stairs, and moving.
