AV/Low-Voltage Technician

Job Description : We are currently seeking an experienced AV/Low-Voltage Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of hands-on experience in installing and configuring AV systems, home automation, and low-voltage infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and troubleshoot AV systems, including audio, video, and control components, in residential settings.
  2. Set up and integrate home automation devices, such as smart lighting, thermostats, security cameras, and motorized window treatments.
  3. Install low-voltage wiring and infrastructure for audiovisual, networking, and security systems.
  4. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other team members to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
  5. Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine installation requirements and identify potential challenges.
  6. Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and functionality.
  7. Adhere to industry standards and best practices for AV and low-voltage installation, wiring, and termination.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation of installations, including wiring diagrams, system configurations, and project updates.
  9. Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and advancements in AV and home automation systems.
  10. Close vision, and color vision ability required
  11. Safely and effectively lifting, carrying, and moving objects of varying weights
  12. Bending, stooping, reaching, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods and maintaining the necessary physical dexterity and coordination
  13. Working in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, and noise levels at times

Qualifications:

  1. 2-4 years of experience in AV installation, low-voltage wiring, and home automation.
  2. Proficiency in installing and configuring AV equipment, including audio receivers, speakers, TVs, projectors, and control systems.
  3. Familiarity with home automation platforms and protocols, such as Control4, Crestron, Savant, or Lutron.
  4. Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring principles and practices, including termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
  5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  7. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
  8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  9. Industry certifications (e.g., CEDIA, AVIXA, CompTIA) are a plus.
