Job DescriptionThis is a school-based Occupational Therapy position with one of our trusted districts. As therapists ourselves, we understand the intricacies of the special education system and are committed to fostering a collaborative approach with school districts to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs.
Job Description And ResponsibilitiesThis is a full-time, on-site role as an Occupational Therapist serving a school located in Hyde Park, VT.The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with pediatric patients with special needs.
  • Position begins 8/19/24 and is for the duration of the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Population: Grades 1-6
Qualifications
  • BS, Master's or PhD in Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited university
  • State License as Occupational Therapist
  • NBCOT License
  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required
  • 2 years of experience, preferred
  • Experience working with children required
  • Experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong foundation in Sensory Integration and ability to identify and analyze areas of developmental and sensory-motor dysfunction
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

If applicable, working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities.
