Job Description and Responsibilities This is a full-time, on-site role as a Special Education Teacher located in Nashville, TN. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with disabilities in a school setting. Daily tasks include creating lesson plans, implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), assessing student progress, and collaborating with other educators and professionals. Full time 5 days week 7.5 hours/day Approx. 190-200 days/per school calendar We multiple openings in Nashville including mild/mod and significant need classrooms Elementary level (K-5) Collaborative approach In-person interview Dual support from the District and TheraPeds Competitive Pay Guaranteed Hours This is a contract position for the 2024-25 school year, beginning in July 2024 and ending in May 2025 This position is working with a group of teachers and leaders who are passionate about teaching students from diverse backgrounds and working in an inclusionary and collaborative model. Qualifications Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education State License as as SPED teacher 2 years of experience in a school setting preferred Organizational and time management skills Proficient in use of technology Fingerprint background clearance Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications Benefits (eligibility dependent on employment status) Competitive compensation package with benefits including health, dental, and vision and 401K.
