Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects with the potential to make a significant impact in the scientific community.

US – Frederick, MD/BID

What will you do?

• Culture mammalian cell lines to achieve experimental objectives.
• Assist in research to enhance protein expression in mammalian expression systems.
• Learn transient expression, purification, and characterization of recombinant proteins.
• Work in a matrix environment to conceive, design, and implement strategies to address current challenges associated with protein expression or virus production and downstream characterization.
• Prepare and present experimental data summaries and protocol writing.
• Make contributions to scientific literature and conferences.
• Align with all company safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks and training files in accordance with relevant Thermo Fisher required standards to support patent application and defense as well as other international standards (e.g., ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.).

Keys to Success

Education

• B.S degree in Cell Biology or related discipline with demonstrated experience in cell culture techniques.

Experience

• 1 years industry or academic experience

• Mammalian cell culture for suspension cultures and aseptic technique.
• Transfection/transient expression/purification/characterization of recombinant proteins.
• Standard molecular biology techniques including DNA cloning, plasmid preparation/purification a plus.
• Current laboratory techniques including transfection, PCR, quantitative real-time PCR, ELISA, Western blotting, flow cytometry a plus.
• Experience with AAV purification and downstream characterization assays a plus.
• Demonstrated track record of completing tasks within established timelines.
• Solid technical writing skills.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results and solve problems.
