Position Summary: As a Product Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication of high-quality machined furniture components. This position operates on a split shift basis, totaling a 38-hour work week with compensation for 40 hours. Additionally, a split shift differential will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Prepare materials for machining and set up machines using various jigs and fixtures to ensure secure positioning of workpieces. Utilize CNC programs to fabricate furniture components with precision and efficiency. Conduct first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools and blueprints to verify adherence to specifications. Collaborate with supervisors to address machine malfunctions and production errors promptly. Maintain a clean and organized workstation to uphold safety standards and minimize hazards. Produce parts that meet quality standards while meeting established production rates. Provide training to coworkers as needed to enhance team capabilities. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent (GED certificate). Previous experience with 3 and 5-axis CNC mills is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with the ability to interpret measuring instruments accurately. Proficient in basic mathematics. Commitment to safety protocols and awareness of potential hazards. Desired Skills: Experience in product design or manufacturing processes. Familiarity with woodworking or furniture fabrication. Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and implement solutions effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
