Mental Health Technician

Required Education : Associate's degree

THIRA Health seeks a Mental Health Technician with excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills. The ideal candidate must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and have experience working in, or expressed interest in pursuing a healthcare work environment with direct mental health patient interaction.

Job Duties Overview :

• Support and assist psychotherapists, nurses, and dietary staff in creating and maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu environment
• Observe and report changes in patient's behaviors, physical symptoms, and mental health status to the clinical team
• Serve as point of contact for new patients entering the program orienting them to program structure, space and rules
• Participate in milieu activities, reinforce effective interactions and provide redirection for ineffective interactions
• Provide supported interventions in the milieu to facilitate patients practicing DBT skills
• Assist with meal / snack preparation with direction from dietary staff
• Support Diet Technician & CNA responsibilities as needed (vitals, snack / meal prep, medication passes, bag checks, etc.)

Requirements :

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's preferred
• Regularly support programming on one or more weekend days preferred
• Valid Driver's License, clean driving record, and the ability to transport patients safely in facility vehicle highly preferred
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (Federal & State)
