Description

Position Summary
Under the direction of the EVP, Commercial, the Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and qualifying potential customers, generating leads, and initiating contact to create opportunities for the sales team. Collaborating with other departments in the office each day, unless traveling to visit customers. Contributes significantly to a company's revenue growth and market expansion efforts.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develops a detailed understanding of the company's assets and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Prepares and presents persuasive sales presentations that effectively demonstrate the capabilities of Third Coast.
  • Business Case Development: Develops a comprehensive business case for the Company's entrance into the Maleic Market, including thorough market analysis; customer identification, segmentation and targeting; current asset to needed asset gap analysis and costing and; expected company growth trajectory and payback.
  • Client Acquisition: Engage with potential clients, understand their requirements, and propose tailored solutions that align with our service offerings.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sales growth in the target market segment.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge about Maleic Anhydride, its derivatives, and their applications.
  • Key Leader responsible for implementation of customer projects in the plant
    • Serves as a champion for projects from identification through successful commercialization.
    • Works with engineering, marketing and research to commercialize customer applications in our existing equipment.
    • Identifies modifications/changes needed to existing equipment to meet customer needs and serves as the champion of these projects.
  • Sales Targets: Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Reporting: Provide regular sales activity reports
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
Work Experience and requirements:
  • Proven sales experience in the chemical industry, preferably with Maleic Anhydride derivatives.
  • Business Development and Project Commercialization experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of Maleic Anhydride experience, including experience with:
    • Manufacturing, formulation and applications.
    • Related chemistries, customers, and end use markets
    • Aptitude for understanding customer business needs and proactively designing solutions to address the opportunities.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship development skills. Self-starter, self-directed and goal oriented.
  • Strong relationship builder and connector.
  • KPI management.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
  • Strong understanding of the chemical contract manufacturing process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
  • 100% Office setting, including sitting, some bending, walking and viewing.
  • Travel required (50%)
