Third Degree Glass Factory is Hiring a Venue Manager/Beverage Director Near St. Louis, MO

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This multifaceted position offers the opportunity to manage several aspects of this unique space. You will oversee venue operations, manage the bar program, and act as the primary on-site event manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality, catering, and banquet services, with a strong background in team management and inventory control.

ABOUT US:

Third Degree Glass Factory is a dynamic and innovative event space, art studio, and gallery dedicated to the celebration of glass art. Located in the heart of the Delmar Maker District, Saint Louis, MO, our venue is a unique and vibrant space that hosts a wide range of events, from weddings and private parties to corporate functions and art exhibitions.

EVENTS STAFFING

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the event spaces, ensuring a clean, well maintained, safe environment.
  • Serve as the on-site manager for events, overseeing all aspects of the event’s execution to deliver a full hospitable experience for our guests, delivering a seamless and hospitable experience.
  • Coordinate with vendors, catering teams, and entertainment to ensure smooth event flow.
  • Address any unforeseen issues or emergencies that may arise during events.
  • Prepare and set up event assets (glass centerpieces etc) before the event prior to date/time specified by the event host.
  • Manage Third Degree staff and assignments as specified by the Event BEO. Responsible for Third Degree staff and assignments specified by Event BEO.
  • Oversee and assist with room set-up with in-house assets and third party rentals ensuring accuracy of delivery, floor sets, and proper linen placement.
  • Schedule event staff (venue coordinators, bartenders, and bar backs) to guarantee adequate staffing for each event on a monthly basis to make sure events are fully and adequately staffed (venue coordinators, bartenders and bar backs)
  • Print weekly binders with information on upcoming events
  • Train and supervise event staff, emphasizing high levels of customer service and ensuring responsible alcohol service.

BEVERAGE MANAGEMENT

  • Implement and delegate our bar policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with local liquor laws and regulations.
  • Source and manage inventory, including alcohol, mixers, and supplies.
  • Monitor and control bar costs, including budgeting and financial reports
  • Collaborate with clients on special bar orders and/or the creation of signature cocktails for their events. Manage these orders and generate invoices accordingly.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with distributors and brand partners .
  • Maintain quality of bar products and bar staff. Continue comprehensive training for staff, to ensure technique quality.
  • Assist in creating a positive work environment, with an emphasis on knowledge, progression, and efficiency.

FACILITY MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain organization in the catering kitchen, boardroom kitchenette, supplies area, and bar cage.
  • Monitor the quality of all A/V equipment (projectors, projector screens, house sound system, cables, microphones, etc.) used during client events
  • Conduct third party linen check-in reporting any missing items
  • Order event supplies as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in venue management, event coordination, or related roles. (minimum 3 years)
  • Previous experience in bar management and a solid understanding of beverage service. (minimum 2 years)
  • Strong knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to delegate and lead a team effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A passion for providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures

COMPENSATION

  • Salary: starting at $60,000
