Description

We are seeking a full-time nurse who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients in family medicine. The right candidate is committed to providing high quality care to a diverse group of patients in a culturally competent and no judgement manner. Loves to provide health education and assist in the removal of barriers of care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. 

General job duties:

  • Assisting in the assessment and monitoring of patients' health conditions. 
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. 
  • Recording and maintaining accurate patient medical records. 
  • Providing patient education on their conditions, medications, and self-care. 
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans. 
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. 
  • Adhering to all clinic policies and procedures.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • LPNs should have a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. They need to comprehend the human body's functioning and how diseases and medications affect it.
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures, such as administering medications, wound care, IV therapy, and patient assessment, is crucial.
  • Understanding common medical conditions, their symptoms, treatments, and potential complications is vital for LPNs to provide quality care.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention protocols and the ability to follow them rigorously to ensure patient safety.
  • Familiarity with medical record-keeping and documentation standards, including electronic health records (EHRs), to maintain accurate patient records.
  • Understanding of nursing ethics, patient rights, and legal regulations governing healthcare, including patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team is crucial. LPNs need to listen attentively, convey information clearly, and offer emotional support.
  • The ability to assess situations, make quick decisions, and prioritize care based on patient needs and changing conditions is essential.
  • LPNs often encounter unexpected challenges and must devise solutions to address them promptly.
  • Collaboration with registered nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals is essential for coordinated patient care.
  • LPNs should be skilled in educating patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current, unencumbered, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Must maintain CEU's per state regulation.
  • Have an active BLS certification.
  • Experience preferred
