Thistle On the Inside (TOI) Program Coordinator Department: Residential
Reports to: Residential Director
Pay Grade: 12-E Coordinator/Entry Level Support
Pay Range: $44,700 - $53,700
Job SummaryThistle Farms, a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to giving survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction a second chance, is seeking an experienced leader to manage and expand our direct service work with women survivors experiencing incarceration. This full-time position is VOCA funded and will be responsible for providing both direct and indirect services to women with a history of human trafficking currently in Deborah Johnson Rehabilitation Center (DJRC) prison, on parole, and/or receiving probation services. You must establish a trusting relationship with program survivors and build and manage effective, collaborative relationships with TDOC partners.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serves as the portal of entry and contact for any eligible woman survivor seeking services.
  • Interviewing individuals to determine appropriate services and connect them with various opportunities within both Thistle Farms and our community partners.
  • Conducting ongoing comprehensive needs assessments for the women participating in the program.
  • Coordinating and communicating with Thistle Farms program partners to provide appropriate services.
  • Maintaining and cultivating collaborative relationships with DJRC organizations and partners by delivering content, stories, and information through meetings and community presentations.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing innovative ideas that will increase the number of women survivors receiving services.
  • Facilitate internal groups and services when necessary.
  • Research, interview, hire, and manage facilitators to lead psychoeducational groups with the participants of TOI
  • Measuring and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Increasing awareness of and conversation around human trafficking and incarceration.
  • Maintaining confidential client records.
  • Maintain a TOI case load when clients are released.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Must have a BA in psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Experience in working with individuals and families impacted by human trafficking.
  • Knowledge of best practices relating to human trafficking which includes identification, safety, confidentiality, and program development.
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team which includes the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse persons including law enforcement, criminal justice professionals, social service agencies, and other systems that impact service delivery for victims of human trafficking.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Skill in problem-solving, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to deal with people experiencing stress and the ability to communicate effectively in challenging client situations
  • Ability to work effectively under high-pressure circumstances and manage crisis and emergency situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse groups of individuals
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work evenings Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5 pm - 8 pm
  • Possible travel to Knoxville and Memphis.
  • Be willing to complete 40 hours of victim advocacy training.
