Director of Communications and Marketing

Cooley Law School, with locations in Michigan and Florida, seeks a Director of Communications and Marketing. The Director is responsible for overall strategic marketing and communications planning and implementation across all channels, including website, overall marketing and recruitment, branding, publicity, digital marketing and advertising, and campaign measurement. This individual is responsible for community and public relations with law school stakeholders including story building and crafting; event planning; and, publicity. The Director is responsible for digital, social, and content marketing; and, creative development, implementation, and measurement.

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: A master's degree (M.A.) in marketing and communications, or equivalent. A minimum of five to eight years of marketing, advertising, public relations, branding and reputation management and measurement experience required. Significant experience in brand and reputation management, preferred.

Knowledge of the following software: Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator, Camtasia, customer relationship management software (Hubspot), Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and web conference/videoconference (WebEx, Zoom). Advanced knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn). Skill in photography, Photoshop and InDesign. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing and proofreading; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines; ability to interact with the public and be in a high visibility position; strong community relations; ability to work individually or with a team; and, ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
