Project Engineer

Thomas & Williamson is a Pittsburgh-based program management firm, which represents government entities involved in the planning, design and construction of large-scale construction projects in the Eastern US.

We are currently seeking an individual to be part of our construction management team. This is an intermediate-level position for candidates with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and requires a BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or a BAE degree. Candidates for this position must be proficient in the use of MicroSoft Excel, Word, Access and Project, Primavera, Bluebeam, AutoCad, AIA Documents, CostWorks,

The successful candidate will train with seasoned engineers, construction managers and project administrators on active projects and jobsites in Western Pennsylvania.

Our project engineers possess a wide array of skills centering on the development of the intrinsic project metrics of time, cost and quality. All project engineers are well-versed in the development of project schedules and construction schedules, preparation of both conceptual and parametric cost estimates as well as the organization and tracking of all hard and soft budget information versus actual costs. Additionally, a T&W project engineer formulates and refines the required scope of work for projects – given only minimal conceptual project descriptions - and through the course of the design process, the project engineer reviews the evolution of the project concepts as they become documented and confirms that the design properly addresses the programmatic project requirements and that the project is constructable within the established budget and schedule parameters.
