Thompson Consulting Services offers comprehensive solutions to support federal, state and local government entities, as well as private sector industries plan for and respond to a variety of disaster incidents, such as, hurricanes, tornados, floods, ice storms, wildfires, earthquakes, oil spills and other natural disasters.

Thompson Consulting Services is accepting applications for a Data Validation Specialist. To do well in this role, you need strong organizational skills, ability to receive multiple instructions at a time, a very fine eye for detail and advanced technical skills for work on the computer utilizing tools and program such as Microsoft Excel and software databases (general computer use/troubleshooting and Microsoft Office proficiency also needed). You will take responsibility for reviewing field created data, updating and maintaining reports and troubleshooting data issues as a part of the Team.

Data Analyst Responsibilities

• Manage field data, to include reviewing, interpreting and updating electronic records.
• Review record photographs and field logs for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide quality assurance oversight of uploaded data, coordinate with data administrators and field operations managers.
• Generate, maintain and update reports from single or multiple systems.
• Additional responsibilities based on other project specific needs.

Data Analyst Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in business, computing or similar field. in a quantitatively focused discipline. Preferred Majors: Accounting, Finance, Management Info. Systems, Business Analytics and other as applicable
• Work experience as a data analyst or in a related data focused role.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include pivot table generation and formula manipulation(Xlookup, IFS statements, concatenations, etc.)
• Computer knowledge to remain self-sufficient during operations and provide general support to field staff if needed.
• Ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
• Experience in handling large data sets (compiling, sorting, filtering, reviewing, interpreting). Microsoft Power Query experience preferred.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Some travel may be required.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends based on project needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
