**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a part-time Associate Attorney to join our commercial litigation team. The ideal candidate will assist in all aspects of the legal process, from conducting legal research to representing clients in court proceedings. The ideal range of prior experience for this position will be 1.5 to 2.5 years. This is a part-time position with somewhat flexible working hours. You will be supervised and trained by a diligent, experienced senior attorney, however, you will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of all cases assigned to you.
**Duties:**
- Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Assist in negotiating settlements on behalf of clients
- Represent clients in court hearings and trials
- Provide legal administrative support to senior attorneys
- Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and development
**Skills:**
- Strong legal writing skills
- Proficiency in legal research using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Ability to draft legal documents accurately and efficiently
- Experience in litigating cases in court or a willingness and lack of fear to do so
- Negotiation skills to reach favorable settlements for clients
