Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:
- Create Quotes and Process Orders:
- Obtain pricing and lead time information from Business Units for RFQs and quote customers
- Assist Application Engineers with generation of sales quotes in our ERP and CRM systems
- Create custom item part numbers
- Convert sales quotes
- Run backorder reports and follow up on late shipments
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Assist Solutions Engineers with entering new customers into our CRM and ERP system
- Heavy communication with customers via email and phone
- Able to offer excellent customer service to external Thorlabs customers as well as internal customers (other Business Units, Departments, Entities and Vendors)
- Works with internal teams to ensure customer order fulfillment is on time and to the customers' expectations
- Serve as point of contact between Corporate Accounting and Sales Department
- Maintain office files and databases
- Effectively maintains understanding of the new part creation process and all associated business requirements related to the sale of a custom part
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments
Physical Activities:This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift objects up to 30 pounds.
RequirementsExperience:
- 2 years or more related experience
- High School Diploma or above. Associates Degree or Higher preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Prioritization and follow up skills are essential to manage unpredictable workflow
- Ability to work independently, make appropriate decisions, and suggest improvements within the department
- Able to work well with team members and willingness to assist as needed
- Efficient workload management to ensure 24hr turnaround on requests.
- Strong interest in Customer Service
