Thorpe is Hiring a Fiberglass Craftsman ( TWIC Required) Near Houston, TX

Role and Responsibilities

  • May be required to fabricate using a variety of materials.

  • Prepare surfaces for installation, including cleaning, leveling, and performing minor repairs.

  • Mix and apply epoxy coatings and sealers according to manufacturer specifications.

  • Install various types of epoxy flooring systems in a range of environments.

  • Use tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete projects efficiently.

  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace during and after installation

  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.

  • Troubleshoot issues and provide solutions during the installation process.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.

  • Proven experience as an epoxy installer or similar role.

  • Knowledge of epoxy materials and flooring techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and stand for long periods.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; professional training or certification in a related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.

  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.

  • Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Climbing ladders and working from heights as necessary.

  • The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.

The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
