Three Brothers Wineries and Estates (Geneva, NY) is seeking a highly motivated, professional individual to fulfill the position of full-time Assistant Winemaker. The candidate will be working directly with the Head Winemaker and Production team in the production of wines for the Estates entire portfolio. As the Assistant Winemaker, the candidate should be a team player and be prepared to participate in and have passion for all aspects of winemaking, including harvesting grapes, crushing grapes, cellar and tank cleaning, filtering, lab work and blending to bottling. A mechanical aptitude for running a bottling line would be a major advantage. Styles will include sweet, semi dry and Estate dry Vinifera style wines. Three Brothers is home to many unique varietals in the region including Barbera, Zweigelt and Gruner Veltliner alongside regional staples like Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Cabernet Franc. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking to work for a medium – large scale winery in the Finger Lakes and gain experience making a wide array of wines.

Requirements:

· 2 years of practical cellar experience.

· Formal education in Enology is preferred, but not required.

· Strong knowledge of winemaking principles, techniques, and best practices.

· Preference will also be given to those who have taken any formal wine tasting and evaluating courses such as WSET, although this is not necessary.

· Ability to work independently and problem-solve. 

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Ability to work long hours and weekends, if necessary, in order to get the job done.

· Ability to work in hot/cold temperature environments and lift 50 lbs.
