Three Rivers Community Action is Hiring a Housing specialist Near Faribault, MN

We are looking for someone with a driving desire to make a difference in the lives of low-income families and individuals throughout our region.

Preference for candidates that are bilingual, have lived experience and / or cultural experience with similar demographics.

Three Rivers Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families and communities in southeastern Minnesota.

The Housing Advocacy Specialists job responsibilities revolve around the primary goal of providing homeless assistance and prevention services to households in need.

This position requires an empathetic and patient approach to working with individuals and families facing crisis situations, excellent interpersonal skills, a detail-oriented work style, and a willingness to work with a diverse population.

As a Housing Advocacy Specialist, you will process requests for assistance, provide support to program participants in person or via phone / email / mail, and apply critical-thinking and multi-tasking skills.

You may make referrals to other programs; participate in agency teams to provide comprehensive services, conduct community outreach in the service region;

Youll report to the Faribault office, 40 hours per week, typically 8am 4pm (Monday-Friday). Occasional travel using a personal vehicle is required;

mileage reimbursement is based on the current IRS mileage rate. Starting pay for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job offers are contingent on a reference check and a criminal background check. Qualifications : Bachelors Degree.Licensed Social Worker (preferred).

Previous case management / service coordination experience.Computer and data entry proficiency.Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data privacy policies and procedures.

Valid driver's license with ability to travel using personal vehicle to meet with clients.Ability to pass the designated background study applicable to the position.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.This primarily office-based position requires lifting 20 pounds occasionally;
