MerchSource, a ThreeSixty Group Company is a $400.0MM consumer products company headquartered in Irvine, California. MerchSource designs and develops consumer products and solutions in the areas of Toys, Home Comfort, Wellness, RC and cross-category gifting. Brands include the iconic FAO Schwarz, Sharper Image, Vornado and Discovery Kids. The company is located in a new, purpose built, research and development campus in Irvine, CA. The new campus employs about 100 team members and is situated in the heart of the developing Southern California tech community.

Who We Need:

We are seeking a talented and strategic Marketing Manager to join our Sharper Image team. The Marketing Manager will be an important member of the Marketing team who will work closely with the Sr. Marketing Director and cross-functional teams to ensure the brand is properly positioned to consumers and that we deliver on our brand’s core values in everything we do.

The ideal candidate has a strong consumer products background and is able to develop and execute marketing initiatives for the Sharper Image brand. The Marketing Manager will be instrumental in driving the success of our Sharper Image products through effective marketing strategies and product road mapping. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, consumer behavior, analytics, and market trends to develop strategic line plans and provide valuable insights for product development. S/he will have experiencing creating consumer-facing marketing programs, including digital and social campaigns, and PR initiatives. S/he must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects at once. We are looking for someone that has the drive to grow with the company and make an impact on every product or customer program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive product marketing strategies to drive demand, and sales of our Sharper Image products in conjunction with the Sr. Marketing Director.
  • Work with the Sr. Marketing Director to establish overall brand strategies, line plans and marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze and provide category, consumer, competitor, retailer and product-specific insights, trends and market research in support of brand strategies.
  • Track and analyze sales performance of product lines to identify growth opportunities.
  • Assist with the creation of retail-specific programs and exclusives, tailoring product lines and marketing strategies to maximize business across channels (Mass, Online, Club, Value, Department Store)
  • Develop clear and compelling product messaging and positioning for products that align with brand guidelines and resonate with our target audience.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, product design, graphics/package design, digital marketing, social media, sales) to bring new products to market successfully.
  • Lead the creation and execution of product launch plans, coordinating marketing activities across various channels such as in-store merchandising, digital, and PR.
  • Support retail sales team to maximize sell in and sell-through during entire product life cycle by providing all necessary information and materials, inclusive of product samples, presentation decks, digital photography and video assets, and required retailer-specific information.
  • Must have strong presentation skills and be comfortable presenting both internally and externally.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the home appliance, massage, hair tools or consumer electronics categories is preferred
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skills
  • Prior leadership experience in marketing/brand management including managing large product portfolio
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Excellent written/verbal, time management and quantitative/analytical skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset & self-starter
  • Demonstrated strong facilitation skills and ability to identify common ground amongst individuals with divergent opinions and perspectives
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, sees challenges as opportunities and translates them into actionable items
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills. Must be able to analyze business data, determine solutions, make sound recommendations and carry out actions in effective manner
  • Highly creative with ability to think out of box
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook is required
