Position Title: Strategy & Design Manager
Position Type: Freelance
Location: Remote
Start Date: August 5th, 2024
The Strategy & Design Manager is responsible for creating and editing design content for multiple brand touchpoints, developing Thresh’s organizational branding, and advancing digital strategy to increase brand awareness. One of the initial position goals will be conceptualizing a rebrand in close collaboration with the Artistic Director.
Schedule: This remote position will require around 5-8 hours per week depending on the workload. Hours should not exceed 25 hours per month. Must be located in the United States and willing to work EST hours.
About Thresh Dance: Thresh is a New York City-based, female-led arts impact nonprofit producing work about storytelling in all its forms. The two-fold mission of Thresh is to educate and to entertain. From creating cross-cultural productions that deal with issues of identity, race, gender and inclusion, to outreach programs for marginalized and underserved communities in the US and abroad, we represent the underrepresented. Responsibilities
DESIGN
• Create, edit, and design proposal decks (partnerships, programming, and development) in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Development team
• Design, guide, and maintain organizational branding across multiple digital & physical touchpoints (social, web, email marketing, posters, programs, etc.)
• Create original templates and graphics for social media
MARKETING/STRATEGY
• Preparation of marketing collateral materials
• Lead the development of Thresh’s media and social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, and YouTube)
• Manage and maintain social media content calendar for publishing
• Build and edit newsletters for email marketing (MailChimp)
• Maintain organization websites and make edits as needed (Wix)
• Launch digital fundraising campaigns annually
• Develop and pitch Press releases as needed
• Social Media and Marketing Analysis
MISC
• Organize and maintain media database for promotional needs (Google Workspace and Vimeo)
• Manage marketing, media, and/or design interns as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
• BA degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in non-profit or performing arts strongly preferred
• Must be highly proficient in design programs (Canva, Adobe Suite)
• Must have experience with web design (Wix)
• Art, illustration, and/or graphic design background highly preferred
• Strong appreciation of the performing arts preferred
Physical Demands / Work Environment
• Ability to collaborate closely with a virtual team
• Excellent organizational skills, focus, attention to detail, and ability to self-proof
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Must be able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
• Ability to attend meetings virtually as needed via Zoom
