Provide your best care with more bridges and less barriers.Veterinary Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Group is looking for a Full-Time Veterinary Consult Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. Role Responsibilities:The outpatient technician is responsible for the procedures and protocol for examinations and consultations. Taking complete and accurate histories of the patient and restraint of the pet during exam may be necessary. The outpatient technician must be able to answer any extraneous questions the client may have, give pertinent literature and guide the client through the consultation process.
Efficient, pleasant, courteous, polite, concerned and helpful to all clients under all conditions and at all times
Reading and understanding appointment block and patient intake forms
Taking accurate patient history
Reporting information to doctors in a clear and professional manner
Properly restrains pets for examinations
Understands and has knowledge of basic orthopedic conditions
Proper knowledge of radiology protocol including knowledge and understanding of equipment operation, software and positioning
Proficient at venipuncture and familiar with in house and reference laboratory procedures
Understand how to fill prescribed medications and proficient with the cubex inventory system
Experience & Skills Requirements:
2 years of clinical experience
High School Diploma

Advanced animal handling experience in a veterinary setting
Able to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously
Ability to remain composed and focused in stressful and emergency situations
Flexible about working additional hours when necessary
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to lift 40 pounds
