Quality Assurance Manager
Job Summary
Thrush Aircraft LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer. The successful candidate will play an important role in the development, implementation, and evolution of the Quality Assurance program within Thrush and the supply chain. Responsibilities will include tracking quality assurance metrics, participating in MRB, investigating nonconformances, structure root cause corrective actions, SPC, support new product launch, and Supplier quality management.

Essential Job Functions
- Support lean manufacturing methodologies and systems including 5S
- Participate\lead RCCA activity
- Drive continuous improvement as related to manufacturing and the QMS
- Support Quality control functions
- Manage calibration and recall of inspection and test equipment
- Review and revise quality assurance procedures as needed
- Prepare SPC report data by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information on defects both internal and externally
- Recommend risk-based data driven corrections to leadership team
- Author work instructions and procedures relating to Quality Assurance
- Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
- Present Quality Assurance\Quality Systems training at new hire orientation
- Collaborate with other engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing engineering
- Ensure that all quality assurance processes are aligned with the QMS
- Support reduced inspection schedules based on SPC defect analysis
Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and inspection techniques
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Skilled in SPC
- Supplier Quality Management and organizational skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to occasionally work late shifts
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with AS9100\FAA Quality systems
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, supervision, and communication skills.
- Dealing with complexity, problem analysis, and problem resolution skills.
- A&P License strongly desired
- LEAN certification a plus
