Project Engineer Essential Functions
- Day-to-day management responsibility of the engineering department, including responsibility for new product introductions, process and process improvement and problem resolution.
- Manage close tolerance, high-precision domestic projects as assigned by the General Manager.
- Tool design approval (for tools used in-house).
- Active participant in process control and continuous improvement and emerging technology projects.
- Projects for other members of the Thunderbird Plastics Group as assigned by the President and General Manager.
- Must have knowledge in the following areas: Design, Tooling, Analytical, and Communication; Oral and Written with both internal and external customers, Project, and Personnel Management experience.
- 4-year Engineering Degree and a strong processing background preferred but not required.
- A tool making / mold making background and an engineering degree or equivalent education, and experience is preferred but not required.
- Five (5) or more years of experience designing plastic injection molds.
- Experience in plastic technologies and mold design.
- Experience in tooling.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Troubleshooting of technical problems.
- Analytical skills involved with being a resourceful and innovative problem solver.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, job orders, standard-operating procedures, safety rules and maintenance procedures. Ability to read and analyze reports and documents.
- This position requires you to be onsite daily.
- This position is primarily in an office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Influencing skills to establish trust, credibility, and rapport at all levels of the organization; seen as humble, direct, and authentic while possessing professional presence.
