Position Summary:Tidal Basin Group, the leading experts in disaster and emergency management consulting, has an opportunity for a Senior Grant Specialist. The Senior Grant Specialist will provide technical assistance to the client in relation to the FEMA regulations associated with the Public Assistance program. This position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job. It recognizes that other related duties not specifically mentioned might also be performed, and that not all responsibilities may be carried out depending on operational needs.Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Collect and assemble all necessary documentation to complete the project formulation to project obligation. Additional documentation will be gathered to closeout assigned projects. This is inclusive of outreach to Subrecipients to retrieve missing information as well as organizing existing documentation.
- Assist client with client with "Work to Be Completed" scope of work.
- Assist the client with developing and processing the client's desire to use the eligible 428 program on their damaged facilities.
- Able to communicate with stakeholders inclusive of subcontractors on potential 406 hazard mitigation opportunities.
- Assist in communication outreach of any upcoming FEMA deadlines or policy updates.
- Report status of project formulations to project manager when requested.
- Able to use and navigate through FEMA's Grants Portal, and Florida's Grant Management web-based platforms.
- Potential travel to Ft. Myers Beach when directed by project manager.
- Has knowledge on 428 program and able to provide applicable guidance to the client.
- Has an understanding in all aspects of FEMA Public Assistance especially knowledge on hazard mitigation and codes and standards.
- Must demonstrate full working knowledge of FEMA’s Grants Portal.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills to be able to communicate with Tidal Basin project manager, project stakeholders (assigned Subrecipients especially) and team members.
- Must have proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
- Work independently with minimal additional training beyond on boarding as well as with local stakeholders.
- Dependable, responsible for their work, detailed-oriented, and well organized.
- Ability to work in a team when assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred
- 3 years of experience as a FEMA, State or Local Public Assistance Officer
- Relevant professional certification (i.e., P.E., CFM, AIA, PCM, PMP)
- Completion of FEMA/EMI Advanced Professional Series or Professional Development Series, ICS series
