Position Summary


The
Laboratory Collection Center Manager is responsible for leading, planning, staffing, and organizing all collection sites for the company.


This position will require travel between all collection sites.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations for all collection sites to ensure the highest quality testing while satisfying regulatory and TPMG policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Compiles/analyzes data on all collection sites productivity, activity, finances, prepares, and presents statistical information to administration.
  • Coordinates cost-effective ordering/receiving/inventorying of laboratory supplies.
  • Ensures patient specimens processed appropriately to ensure accurate test results.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (COLA/CLIA/OSHA).
  • Maintains all required laboratory documentation to fulfill COLA/CLIA/OSHA and TPMG requirements.
  • Responsible for providing overall leadership, growth, marketing, administration, and performance of all aspects of the lab collection centers to ensure accomplishment of its objectives and goals.
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and Office Managers to prepare staffing strategies for existing and future needs.
  • Post job openings using Paycom Recruiting Applicant Tracking System and interview new hires for vacancies.
  • Responsible for personnel functions including staffing, training, monitoring, and evaluation of staff.
  • Creates an atmosphere of team building and sets a professional example for staff.
  • Hold quarterly meetings with all LCC employees to ensure effective communication and identify training opportunities.
  • Responsible for resolving site complaints, patient complaints, and customer service issues.
  • Responsible for payroll, accounts payable and charge entry.
  • Review financials (e.g., P&L statements, GL reports, inventory control, payroll, etc.).
  • Analyze costs for overhead based on information from payroll distribution or overtime and schedule employee coverage appropriately.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and best practices for laboratory testing to include quality control and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to monitor quality control checks and determine needs and evaluate purchase equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize/correct hazardous conditions.
  • Knowledge of CLIA, COLA, Stark and OSHA regulation compliance.
  • Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations and in identifying and resolving problems.
  • Skill in providing guidance/instruction to staff and in establishing/maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
  • Ability to hire, supervise, and discipline staff.
  • Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data and make department recommendations.
  • Ability to determine budget needs and maintain expenditures within budget.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to effectively use word processing and spreadsheets.


Education / Training / Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of high-volume phlebotomy experience.
  • A minimum of three years of management experience is preferred.
  • Certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or equivalent preferred.
  • Travel to all collection sites required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for limited periods of time.

  • Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 lbs. *
