Tilray Beers BackgroundTilray Beverages is comprised of 15 craft brands across the United States. These beer and beverage brands possess the hallmarks of strong consumer loyalty and further diversify Tilray’s portfolio. The expected sales volume will elevate Tilray Brands to the 5th largest craft beer business position in the U.S., up from the 9th. Tilray Brands also owns Breckenridge Distillery, the award-winning spirits brand and the World’s Best Blended Whisky, and Happy Flower CBD sparkling non-alcoholic cocktails
This role will lead and manage Tilray Beers owned Digital & Social Platforms across all brands in the portfolio. This includes all owned, earned, shared and paid media strategies including all PR outreach and thought leadership.
The Director of Digital/Social Marketing and Communications will leverage the digital marketing landscape and insights/data to create better consumer experiences that ultimately will be converted in digital transactions across social media platforms and owned platforms.
Director, Digital/Social Marketing & Communications will be responsible for:
  • Leading the development of Digital & Social strategies across the Tilray Beer portfolio in order to maximize brand awareness, brand love, consumer engagement & retention along a connected consumer journey ensuring no consumer dead-ends, creative excellence and connected consumer touchpoints along their journey including social media channels, brand websites, CRM. (This includes expert knowledge of current channels – but with a focus on providing thought leadership and understanding of newer channels that develop).
  • Lead all Tilray Beverages PR & Media relations efforts including ensuring a strong connectivity to the corporate communications department at Tilray (parent company)
  • Developing and managing CRM strategies that will leverage consumer data to increase brand loyalty and purchase frequency.
  • Leading the creation of direct-to-consumer owned platforms and integration within cross portfolio, audience first journeys and brand/category marketing platforms.
  • This role plays a key role to re-define the way we do marketing today and disrupt it while educating/spreading that knowledge throughout the organization in partner with ICX lead.
KEY SUCCESS PARAMETERS Experience of 10 or more years of marketing leadership with a focus on digital and social professional experience, including social brand building, community building, digital commerce, digital platforms, and data-driven experiences.
  • Experience in working with/for CPGs with great focus on understanding the consumer (needs, journey, micro moments) and driving coherent consumer experience maps
  • Experience working with marketing in the field is preferred
  • Experience working in cross-functional and teams in multiple locations is preferred
  • Communicating, influence and negotiate across multiple stakeholders
  • Leading strategic conversations, negotiations and alignment across key stakeholders including agency partners, influencers, media and our distributor/wholesaler partners.
Work Focus
  • Deep understanding of the evolved media landscape, digital and social platforms, data and ecommerce
  • A strong understanding of culture and how to identify meaningful trends and insights to help guide our brand strategies
  • Expertise in working with different external partners (i.e.: agencies, production houses, media companies, influencers) and with big digital players (Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon)
  • Ability to lead and inspire work across agile cross-functional teams
  • Ability to lead and develop large and multi-country teams
Communication Focus
  • Role will require communication across Tilray Beer leadership, Brand Management, ICX leads, Wholesalers and Distributors.
  • Role will also interact frequently with external parties including agency partners, influencers, media and our distributor/wholesaler partners.
  • Key role in educating / exciting the system on disruptive ways to approach marketing
Key Knowledge Requirements Mastery Of (required)
  • Integrated marketing communications understanding and development across a omni-channel communication touchpoints
  • Direct to consumer and CRM expertise with data-analytics marketing activation expertise
  • Adept communication style who can sell and influence idea buy-in across multi-disciplinary marketing stakeholders
  • Team leadership and talent development with ability to establish and lead agile cross-functional teams
