Timber Lane Pediatrics is Hiring a Patient Support Specialist Near Burlington, VT

Timber Lane Pediatrics is currently seeking a full-time Patient Support Specialist to join our team at our Burlington location. We are a patient/family-centric pediatric office, and the Patient Support Specialist is an integral part of the health care team as they are the first point of contact for patients coming into the practice.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous front desk reception/scheduling experience in a medical office setting a plus
  • Must possess excellent computer, communication and customer service skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a friendly demeanor and demonstrate a professional and positive attitude with staff, outside agencies, community members and patients
  • Maintain confidential patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome patients and visitors in person or on the telephone
  • Check in / check out patients; schedule patient appointments
  • Answer and handle incoming calls or direct calls and inquiries appropriately
  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
  • Sort and distribute incoming faxes
  • Collect all necessary patient information, demographics, insurance, co-pays
  • Daily cash-out and reconciliation of monies received
  • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulation
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year in a medical office setting preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
