Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (Electrical Vehicle / Hybrid Automotive) position, in the Industrial and Transportation Technology department within the Academic and Student Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta,  

Job Description:

Under general supervision of the Dean of Industrial and Transportation Technology department, the Full-Time Electrical Vehicle / Hybrid Automotive Instructor providesinstruction and support tostudents in EV Automotive program.This positionrequiresutilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

·DemonstratestheeffectiveuseoforalandwrittencommunicationskillsandknowledgeofcurrentproceduresintheAutomotiveTechnologyfield.

·Developsandreviewsprogramandsyllabi,goalsandobjectivesaccordingtoapprovedcurriculumandcoursesyllabistandards.

·Evaluatesandreviewsstudents'progressinattaininggoalsandobjectives.

·Instructs,advisesandcounselsstudents,andmaintainsappropriateadvisementrecordsoneachstudent.

·Maintainsstrictsafetyrulesinclassroomandlabenvironments.

·Monitor’suseofsupplies,materials,andequipment.

·Requestsandmaintainssuppliesandequipmentandpreparesbudgetrequests.

·Maintainsandreviewsprogramcertificationrequirements,asappropriateforprogramaccreditationstandards.

·Preparesandmaintainsallrequireddocumentationandadministrativereports,especiallyasrequiredforgrantpurposes.

·Attendingstaffdevelopmenttraining,workshops,seminarsandconferences.

·Assistswithrecruitment,retentionandjobplacementefforts.

·Demonstratesandensurestheuseofappropriateandeffectiveteachingtechniques,testingandgradingprocedures(includingpropermaintenance ofgradebooksandanyotherappropriaterecord-keeping).

·Servesoncommittees.

·MaintainsASEcertificationsandensuresqualificationsforemploymentareupdatedasnecessaryintechnicalfields.

·Promotesgoodpublicrelationsviacontactsandregularcommunicationswithbusiness,industry,andthepublicsector; and

·Performs additional duties, as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Highschooldiplomaorequivalent andanautomotivetechnologydiplomafromanaccreditedprivateorpublicpostsecondaryinstitution.
  • One (1) of more years of years ofpaid technicalexperience. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse, adult learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Associate’s degree or higher andanautomotivetechnologydiplomafromanaccreditedprivateorpublicpostsecondaryinstitution.
  • Certifiedelectric vehicle(EV) technicianwith atleast three (3) years ofpaid technicalexperience workingas an EV engineand/ or EV battery repairtechnician.
  • Certificationsfrom the National Institutefor AutomotiveServiceExcellence(ASE):

1)EVElectricalSafetyAwarenessCertification(LevelOne).And,

2)EVTechnicianElectricalSafetyCertification(LevelTwo).

  • Three (3) of more years of years ofpaid technicalexperience. 
  •  Teaching experience.
