Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (First Year Experience Seminar) position in the Arts & Sciences department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Full-Time First Year Experience Seminar Instructor providesinstructiontostudentsinGeneralEducationFirst Year Experiencecourses.This is positionrequiresutilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
• Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required.
• Demonstrates the effective use oforalandwrittencommunicationskills.
• DemonstratesknowledgeofcurrentproceduresintheEducationfield
• Follows approved course syllabus.
• Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory ofallassignedproperties.
• Advisesandcounselsstudentsandmaintainsappropriateadvisementrecordsoneachstudent.
• Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.
• Attending meetings as required and appropriate.
• Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations.
• Assists with student recruitment and job placement.
• Servesoncommittees, as needed.
• Maintainsqualificationsforemploymentinaccordancewithinstitutionalandaccreditationguidelines.
• Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
• Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
• Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Competencies:

• Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, knowledge, judgment, awareness, understanding, memory, and the ability to process information in a clear and effective manner.
• Have positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, and well- developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Public Speaking.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

·Master’s degree or higher in College Arts and Sciences, Arts and Letters, College of Business, or College of Education from a regionally accredited institution.

·One (1) years of teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

·Two (2) or more years of teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary education program within the past three (3) years.

·Experience with Blackboard, BANNER, D2L or other LM systems.
