Job Title: Quality Control Specialist
Overview:
As a Quality Control Specialist in our manufacturing company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our plastic products. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong mathematical aptitude, knowledge of various types of plastics, and 2 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough inspections of incoming raw materials, intermediate components, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities in plastic products.
Utilize precision measuring tools, equipment, and instruments to assess dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material properties.
Mathematical Calculations:
Calculate the theoretical weight of plastic materials based on configuration parameters such as dimensions, density, and volume.
Compare calculated theoretical weights with actual measured weights to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate production output.
Adjust production processes or material quantities as needed to achieve target weights and minimize waste.
Plastic Materials Knowledge:
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various types of plastics, including their properties, characteristics, and applications.
Identify different plastic materials by visual inspection, material codes, or other identification methods.
Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of plastic materials according to specifications and requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
Record inspection results, test data, and quality metrics accurately and timely in quality control databases or documentation systems.
Prepare detailed reports, charts, and graphs summarizing quality performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
Communicate quality issues, recommendations, and corrective actions to relevant stakeholders, including production managers, engineers, and suppliers.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and waste reduction within the quality control function.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and quality management systems.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics or polymer industry.
Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform calculations for plastic weight configurations and adjustments.
In-depth knowledge of various types of plastics, including properties, characteristics, and processing methods.
Experience with quality control tools, techniques, and methodologies, such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment for quality inspections.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
