Timmons Group is always accepting applications for Environmental Technicians  to join our  Environmental Group in our  Richmond, VA  office location for future opportunities. The Environmental Technician is responsible for the delivery of technically sound products that meet internal and external client expectations, on time and on/under budget, provides technical support for field decisions on natural resource projects, and other related projects with input by an Environmental Scientist and the Project Manager. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with field investigations and report preparations
  • Performing wetland delineations
  • Wetland data forms
  • Joint permit applications (JPAs)
  • Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments
  • Threatened and endangered species searches
  • Wetland mitigation monitoring and assist with NEPA documents. 

Skills/Requirements  of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Science or a closely related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • Ideal candidates will have some studies, internships or practical experience in wetland science
  • Must be capable of correctly operating technical analysis and computer equipment
  • Strong plant identification and soils classification skills preferred
  • Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills, and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and activities
  • Must be capable and willing to performing field tasks in all types of weather in often demanding outdoor conditions and terrain
