Tinsel Experiential Design is Hiring a Market Specialist Near Milwaukee, WI

About the job

The Market Specialist for Jägermeister is a key support role for our client, MJUS. Reporting to the Market Manager, you will support the program by assisting with administrative duties, manage the logistics of the on-premise samplings within your region, and visit events to ensure quality of execution. You will also help with the recruitment and successful management of a team of part-time Promotional Specialists embodying the spirit of both Jägermeister and Tinsel Experiential.

You will work with internal (agency) and external (client) stakeholders at a local level to continuously improve activations as well as grow brand love with our target market and accounts on behalf of the brand. Our Market Specialists also support the team by sharing best practices and local insights for the growth and betterment of the program and relationship between Tinsel Experiential and Jägermeister. ENSURE QUALITY FIELD EXECUTION

  • Help directly oversee a high-quality team of 30-50 part-time Promotional Specialists
  • Win your local market, who are educated on the client’s products, brand and activations.
  • Conduct regular spot checks and be present weekly at events to ensure the highest quality of execution and foster relationships with your local account universe.
  • Report performance issues to the Market Manager in a timely manner, acting with a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure implementation of compliance measures for sampling and activation in accordance with your state and local laws.

LOCAL SUPPORT

  • Foster a positive relationship with local client teams, accounts, and Promotional Specialists.
  • Ensure all event kits are distributed to the Promotional Specialists each week
  • Manage the local storage unit and keep an accurate inventory
  • Call accounts to confirm event schedule and product availability
  • Step in to work events as a Promotional Specialist as needed

ADMINISTRATION

  • Assist Market Manager with scheduling needs on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Support reporting by ensuring per-event recaps are completed on time and sharing market insights with the Market Manager.
  • Effectively and responsibly manage and communicate to Tinsel Corporate and Market Manager all assigned company and client equipment, uniforms and assets.
  • Complete all expenses and manage corporate credit card in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all state rules and regulations.
  • Help with other administrative duties as assigned by the Market Manager

Knowledge and expertise that you will need most

  • Bachelors degree
  • Some beverage experience preferred
  • Prior experience managing event logistics
  • Knowledge of your local market
  • Interpersonal skills to build rapport and collaborate with colleagues, consumers, event participants, clients, and accounts.
  • Effective communication skills for both in-person and remote interactions, ensuring clear and accessible communication with all participants.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle competing demands to ensure smooth execution
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods, ensuring accuracy in scheduling and data collection.
  • Proficiency with Outlook for scheduling or other software and managing appointments, schedules, staffing, and other related business matters.
  • Familiarity with data collection tools and software for conducting work studies and analyzing results.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities, ensuring that all stakeholders' availability is accommodated.
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks as needed to support the success of the program(s).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Skilled at multitasking with an ability to stay on schedule
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High moral character and social responsibility
  • Flexibility of schedule – typical working days may involve weekends and holidays with off days during the week. Travel required to events in market.

Ways to stand out from the crowd

  • Previous experience working for a bev-alc brand
  • Previous experience in an event support role
  • Previous experience as a team lead or managing a team of promotional specialists
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to succeed

Work Environment

  • Role requires an ability to perform sedentary work primarily involving sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds, such as meeting materials or equipment.
  • Work in indoor environments such as bars, restaurants, and clubs. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the venue and hours include nights and weekends.
  • Direct interaction with customers, consumers and venue staff to promote and provide product samples and ensure smooth execution of sampling events.
  • Working in outdoor environments such as festivals, fairs, and bar locations.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain) depending on the location.
  • Physical stamina to stand and move for long periods, and mobility to navigate different types of venues.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods and as needed to execute or prepare client activations.
