Tioga Medical Center is seeking a Restorative Aide to join our Therapy Department!
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Responsibilities:
Transport and prepare patients for physical therapy treatments. Obtain and set up necessary treatment equipment. Perform chest physical therapy, whirlpools, range of motion, ambulation, and application of hot/cold packs. Assist the physical therapist with treatments. Maintain the physical therapy department and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents, patients, and staff. Maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment. Document treatments on appropriate forms. Ability to carry out restorative nursing care in the absence of a physical therapist and under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Report to the P.T. any changes or recommendations by staff regarding patient’s/resident’s condition. Maintain adequate positioning and proper anatomical alignment of patients/residents. Assist nursing staff with daily transfers and positioning. May assist daily feeding of residents. Assist residents with ADLs, such as toileting, if the situation occurs immediately before, during, or after physical therapy treatments.

License and Certifications:
Active CNA license in good standing with the State of North Dakota
Active BLS Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The position of physical therapy restorative aide requires the ability to read, write, and speak English and follow oral and written instruction. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. or greater in order to help in lifting and transferring of patients. Must have the ability to move patients per cart or wheelchair and to move mechanical and electrical devices. Must be versatile enough to bend and reach. Must have the mental capacity to be able to operate equipment such as the whirlpool and chest percussor, and the capacity to complete forms and records. Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork. Must have ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
