Please note: this role is located in our Denver, CO office; we work off a hybrid model and come into the office 2 days per week.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability of our organization's Sports Betting and Casino applications:
Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Approaching operations as a Software Engineering challenge applying software engineering to solve operational challenges.
• Being the first point of contact to our Operations and Dev teams for any questions and issues regarding our platform.
• Responsibility to have the right monitoring tools in place and react to alerts during 24/7 on-call shifts.
• Positive attitude and the ability to understand the critical urgency of topics and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure non-functional requirements for all applications and tools are met and clearly communicated.
• Providing counsel to our internal software engineering team and proactively suggesting improvements on how to operate our microservice-based solution.
• Automate as much as possible where necessary to reduce overhead for the day-to-day business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering or devops experience.
• Practical experience in using common cloud APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting, as well as higher level protocols and patterns like HTTP3, REST, JSON and gRPC.
• Expertise in systems integration and distributed large scale microservice deployments.
• Experience in operating and monitoring container workloads and similar technologies.
• Strong code reading and understanding skills with at least one high level programming language
• Knowledge of messaging or event streaming systems
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and source control systems.
• Familiarity with Relational and NoSQL databases.

Nice to have:

• Online gaming and gambling experience.
• Understanding of the higher-level network stack for cloud-based systems.
• Knowledge of Java, Vert.x or Springboot
• Knowledge of front-end technologies like Typescript, React, Lit or similar.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $115,000 to $130,000, depending on location and experience.
