• Day Shift Supervisor
• Afternoon Shift Officer
• Midnight Shift Officer
• Swing Shift Officer

Responsibilities

• Train and qualify to work assigned post. Understands the specific and general post instructions for that assigned post.
• Observes and reports security concerns to the supervisor or manager.
• Oversees and monitors the activities of the intake and release areas.
• Completes all daily information forms necessary in processing offenders in / out of the facility.
• Updates computer upon arrivals / departures of offenders.
• Updates count board upon arrival / departure of offenders.
• Operates Fingerprinting for incoming offenders.
• Ensures all arriving offenders receive appropriate identification, including ID and wristband.
• Responsible for completion of inventory of property for incoming / outgoing offenders.
• Properly identifies each offender scheduled to be released.
• Notifies necessary departments of pending incoming / outgoing offenders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid drivers license
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
• Ability to be physically alert on any shift that is assigned.
• Work experience in a correctional setting is preferred.
• May be required to possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Must be mature, flexible, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates or detainees and staff, philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility, and possess a high tolerance to mental stress.

Pay and Benefits for Security Officers :
