Job Purpose:Responsible for all sales and marketing activity, by working with prospects and customers of our products. Provide hands on ownership of the sales process and department. Oversee the team performance, output, goal setting and development. Provide leadership both internally and externally to grow our product and customer base.
Employee RelationsCore Responsibility
• Manage department staffing, training, expectations and performance
• Ensure resources are being utilized appropriately
• Develop employees skills
• Set employee/department goals with actionable items
Prospecting/Sales DevelopmentCore Responsibility
• Research and pursue new target customers and markets
• Develop rapport with prospects
• Sell TLC's company capabilities and distribution lines at a technical level
• Design in or cross to TLC product lines on customer programs
• Obtain cost, apply margin, and review quotes for strategic pricing
• Work internally with operations team on new projects and current order updates
Customer RelationshipCore Responsibility
• Develop relationships with key customer's decision makers
• Nurture existing customer relationships
• Provide escalation path for customer issues and opportunities
• Conduct/participate in key customer meetings
• Provide strategic insight and actions for customers
• Participate and lead in quarterly customer business review
Reporting/AnalysisCore Responsibility
• Own sales forecasting; quarterly review
• Develop, analyze and present KPI's with insight/action outcome
• Utilize ERP tools for customer information, opportunity and order tracking
• Review sales projections against actual results
• Present monthly sales reporting to leadership team
• Review gross margin for product and customer profitability
• Manage department budget.
MarketingSecondary Responsibility
• Oversee and drive marketing strategy and campaigns
• Host or attend sales/marketing events and meetings
• Establish/maintain company image
• Monitor, analyze and implement actions related to competition
TrainingSecondary Responsibility
• Learn distribution product lines and technical attributes
• Learn TLC internal capabilities
• Conduct training for the team
• Provide continual product training for the team and company
• Provide backup to all roles within the department
• Drive culture of continuous improvement
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:• Ability to build rapport quickly to learn the most possible from prospects/customers.
• Strong verbal skills and written skills including presenting information and responding to questions from prospects and TLC team.
• Ability to work closely with many personality types in numerous environments, while remaining professional and courteous.
• Strategic, creative thinking skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to analyze data, sales statistics and translate results using math.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Must be self-motivated and self-directed while being a goal oriented and organized team player.
• Strategic planning with an ability to think ahead over a 1-3-year time span.
• Ability to train, develop and mentor a team.
• Motivate the department to work towards the company's common goals and future aspirations.

Qualifications:Minimum
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sales, marketing or business or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of successful sales management experience.
• Experience in selling contract manufacturing or distribution products.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams) and CRM utilization.
• Valid Driver's license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
• Must be able to travel a minimum of 15% of the time. Mostly local, with several trips annually to other states.
Preferred:
• Master's Degree in related field
• Knowledge of electronic component distribution, wire, cable, interconnect or electromechanical sales experience, sales processes, technical presentation development and execution of presentations to small and medium size audiences.
• Five years' experience in wire & cable assemblies to Medical, Agricultural, Industrial, autonomous, and solar industries or market
Physical Requirements/Capabilities:• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and the ability to talk and hear.
• Ability to frequently sit for prolonged amounts of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm's length, climb or balance, stoop or bend, push, pull, kneel, and crouch as job requires.
