TLC has a Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright (1 Years Experience) opportunity for a candidate in our New Orleans location. Position is a junior position with the expectation of growth / career advancement through job experience and training. Position assists with installing, assembling, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading machinery and equipment, performing routine scheduled maintenance, repairing broken or malfunctioning machines, dissembling machines scheduled for replacement, and aligning and testing equipment.

Job Duties

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, which includes washers, dryers, conveyors, lifts, overhead rail systems, ironers, feeders, folders, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, diaphragm and positive displacement pumps, chemical injection pumps, and their associated motors.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
• Repair/replace defective parts; check/adjustment to sensors, measuring devices, etc.
• Clean, lubricate, and replace shafts, bearings, gears, and mechanical seals.
• Operate forklift, manlift, and assorted hand tools including grinders, drill motors, power hack & band saws, and pipe threader to repair process or building components.

What We Look for in a Candidate

• 1 years hands-on experience in the field of maintenance, preferably in an industrial production environment maintaining and repairing industrial production equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required. Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Technical degree preferred.
• Desire to learn and grow abilities and is coachable.
• Experience using a variety of hand and power tools in a safe manner.
• Maintains a level-headed and calm presence required.
• Self-starter who stays busy on important tasks.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting.
• Ability to weld (stick, mig, and/or tig) is a plus.
• Conducts all duties in a safe manner, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
