Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely and competently.Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech and PACS). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physician s orders are verified.Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.Prepares examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation. Maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance of work areas and dressing rooms.Assists the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient.Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) and completes verification process in PACS.Assists Diagnostic Supervisor with PACS clean up. i.e.: Clean CR plates, erase cassettes, close and send exams from workstations, etc.Completes and maintains personal educational requirements.Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure.EDUCATIONREQUIRED: Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. These images are usually recorded digitally with modern equipment. Radiographs may be used to detect bone fractures, find foreign objects in the body, and demonstrate the relationship between bone and soft tissue. The most common type of radiography exam is chest radiography, which is commonly performed to evaluate the heart or lungs for pathologic conditions such as pneumonia. Most radiologic technologists enter the profession as radiographers. In this role, you ll capture images of patients internal organs, soft tissues, and bones using X-ray equipment. Radiologic Techs also assist radiologists with a range of procedures, such as fluoroscopic imaging or gastrointestinal exams that require the use of contrast media.
